and NO CONFLICT PROBLEMS with other drivers. Everything is working perfectly! I have been using it intensively with heavy graphics programs and there are no problems whatsoever: no lags, no freezes, no hiccups! It just works.

Into my third month now with HP support and still nothing, so I force-installed an update to the Intel Iris Graphics driver and EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY! I installed the new drivers, tested the laptop thoroughly in stand-alone mode, then switched over to dual monitor mode. the problem has been SOLVED! However, not by HP. Has anyone else encountered this and, if so, have you managed to solve it? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

SO I'M STUCK! I know what the PROBLEM is and, unusually, I know what the SOLUTION is, but I cannot successfully apply it. I tried HP support but they say they they cannot allow an update before the new version is tested but that there are no plans currently to replace the driver. HP's ever-attentive approach to security seems to lock this version down, preventing its update. The version of the driver installed by HP is a custom version and the latest update won't install over it. This clashes with the DisplayLink driver.DisplayLink says that the latest driver from Intel works fine, and even gave me a link to it. I reported it to StarTech & DisplayLink themselves, both of whom have been great! After weeks of effort DisplayLink have REPLICATED the problem, IDENTIFIED the cause and have a SOLUTION! The problem is the version of the Intel Iris Graphics installed by HP. It will display two screen OK but it constantly freezes (every couple of seconds!) and will not run ANY graphics based software. However, I just purchased a HP Pavilion 14-cexxx notebook with the latest core i7 processor and the docking station will not work with it. The StarTech uses the universal DisplayLink graphics driver to achieve this and it works fine with my HP Spectre x360 and with a Dell Vostro. I use a StarTech dual monitor docking station (connected to two laptops so that I can hot-swap).
